Great trip, people and memories

Wow.
It's amazing how many things a little person can accumilate. So we are back from Trail now. We went to Trail (where John grew up) for a week so Noah could meet his Grandma and other family members. Let the details begin..
So we left here Friday afternoon and drove to Cranbrook. FYI the Superstore in Cranbrook has the biggest selection of kids clothes so we did a little shopping. Then spent the night in the hotel pool and bedtime it was. Enjoyed some fresh waffles in the AM and the adventures of Noah and his hamness started. He was giggling at the staff and the a hotel guest who had a little doggie. Good times.
Packed up and went to Trail. Arrived at Vicki and Alberts who made our stay so enjoyable and made us feel so welcome. They have a little dog named Mugs and he LOVED Noah. Lots of kisses..lol
Introduced Noah to John's mom, sister and cousins. He was really enjoyin himself. Laughing and smiling with everyone. Letting them hold him ect..no problems. He is normally shy and cries with strangers but he was so fantastic this trip. We watched the fights with Jer and had some beers. The next day we went back to Marilyns to visit and hang out.
Monday we went to visit with Chad, Andrea and the girls. Had dinner and a couple quick beers. Bath, giggles, bottle, giggles and bed. He started waking a few times in the night so we would put him in between us and he slept like a baby ;)
Tuesday shopped downtown and checked out the Trail Arena, delicious pastries and then off to The Colander. Words can not explain how delicious the pasta is here...great italian place and oh yeah the stew? Yumo!
Wednesday off to Spokane for the day, shopping and IHOP breakfast. Harvest grain and nut pancakes...really. OMG a must! :) He slept alot in the car and did really well considering how much he has been in the car seat over the last few days. But he was wide awake and would not sleep. Finally he tuckered out around 10. Yikes. But still up at the same time.
Thursday we had a lazy day, didn't do much..went to the mall got some Easter presents for the little ones and watched a movie.
Friday still really sick and just getting worse, sucks but gotta push forward. Off to Marilyns for Easter dinner, ham and all the rest :)
Saturday morning..one last visit with John's mom and off we went...Radium bound! Stayed at the Hotel, went in the pool ordered some dinner and called it a nite. Woke up Sunday grabbed a coffee, hung out in the room and giggled with the little guy. Packed up and made it home.
Such a great visit and I am leaving out all the good little funny moments where for example Noah had everyone howling over a tug a war game with Mugs, stole my scarf and was hamming it up, threw spaghetti noodles on the floor at the restaurant, found out about velcro and loves it. Says Hiya and yaya..scrunches his face and just learned to pull himself up to standing!! Big boy. Close to crawling but cant get his one foot out from across him. He is pretty close though lol. It's awesome to watch him now. Busy body. okay I guess I didnt leave it out now LOL.
Great trip, people and memories.

Busy, busy but soo much fun.

Wow.
We have been busy busy but having such a great time. Noah is a riot. Man this is really my favorite time with him. He is so interactive and I can see in his eyes when he learns...I can see him actually learning by watching his eyes. It's so rewarding.

Since last time, two teeth are out, yep can see them both clearly. It's sooo cute.

We started swimming and he absolutely LOVED it. What a great thing, all these cute little babies flapping around. SO glad we decided to do it.

Went to the used toys and clothing sale at the Tuscany club and it is lined up and jam packing. They put it on twice a year and it is wonderful. We got a brand new hilarious elmo, counting tonka truck, 2 pairs of childrens place jeans and a pair of jeans from the gap all for 22 bucks! perfect.
Had my sisters shower, which was so much fun!! I can't wait to meet the little man...Jacob. What a great name..Jake! Noah spent the day at Grandpas with daddy and uncle Nic...he was in such a great mood. All smiles. Love it.
The next day we went to Nic's (sadly) but final hockey game of the season. They lost, but looked real good out there. My dad is a coach and dyed his hair green (their colors) for support.
Tons of walks and lots of car rides. He loves the bjorn so much! He squeals and laughs all the time.
We went to Chapters tonight for a little change of pace. Got a couple of little things for the monkey and The Notebook for me to read. I hope it is as good as the movie or better.
Then grabbed a Tim's and I am hoping I won something. I think it's my turn to win something.
Anyhow things have been really really great. He knows how to give kisses, hi fives and learning how to wave and clap right now. He really wants to get moving too..he is pretty close to crawling but also loves standing so maybe he will skip crawling and go right to walking..imagine, walking!! Aww....
Okay up to par now I believe.

One tooth out, 19 more to go

Thrilled.

Ecstatic.

Yes, one tooth, possibly two (if he would let me in there) have cut! He slept the whole night through and I so needed that. Been a tough week. He went to sleep easy last night and tonight laid him down awake, kissed him and said goodnight left the room and did not have to go back in. Just like what we are used to.

We took Noah for his first swing ride today, pretty cool. It was such a beautiful day today and supposed to be 10 tomorrow. Spring is in there air. There is so much run off right now, loving it. Flip flops are getting closer and closer...

He was in much better spirits today, exactly what we needed and just in time for......swimming tomorrow! Man, I am pretty excited. He starts swimming classes as a "Starfish". He loves water and I can't wait to see him splash around.

It is shocking has fast time flies by. I can't beleive he is 8.5 months old already, love that he is growing and learning new things. His new thing is hi-fives (although I am not sure he really knows for sure) but he puts his hand to yours when you say hi five!

(I will make sure and post all about his new adventure and how it went tomorrow)

Helpless

Teething Sucks.

Real bad.

I Feel helpless for him. I wish I could take his pain.

Wowzas..

Last night was tough, Noah was up every 3 hours screaming and crying. Real tears, the big ones that roll down his face. He was pretty uncomfortable...fingers jammed into his mouth. Had to rock him back to sleep...had a little tylenol and seemed to take a bit of the edge off but still upset.

Man I am exhausted...not used to this. He normally is a really good sleeper. He was hard to get down to bed today too. I am hoping he (and me) have a more restful sleep tonight.

Yup.

All I got.

Teeth?

This weekend went by very fast! Friday..blur cant remember. Saturday we went out to Okotoks to visit good friends and introduce Noah. They have 2 pugs which he absolutely adored. The drunken pugs (named Glen and Guiness) also loved him too with much love, kisses and wet willys :)

The downtown of Okotoks is super cute. I will have to go out there one day in the summer.

Sunday we went to Banff for the Morning. John had a claim and so we made the best of it. Cold but took my sisters advice on this fabulous coffee and bakery place. Wild Flour, it's devine.

This week so far, errands and walks. I love after dinner walks. We made our way to Starbucks and Noah passed out in the stroller. He loves the fresh air (as do we) he remained sleeping for half an hour in the stroller when we got home. Adorable.

Today went by very fast, played with the munchkin (6 poopy diapers today) ?? Crazy! Anyhow back to the good times, we played and he napped. I was able to finish a little something I was working on for my sisters shower which is coming up quickly meaning the lil man will be here quickly too!! Can't wait to meet him.

Went for a walk over to the Sobeys cause I was in the mood to have breakfast for dinner (gotta love that once in awhile). Noah loves the bjorn (which he is quickly outgrowing boo...) Anyhow he laughs and smiles his face off when he is in there.

GO CANADA GO!! Yay, nice job guys and actually just a wonderful day in general for medals!

Noah did not want to sleep tonight, poor guy felt a little warm and pink cheeks. He had his fingers in his mouth..I am thinking his teething but I have thought that before and nada so....not really sure. However we are at 8months now...and no teeth? God they are gonna hurt when they do come in. Yikes!

Girls night is planned for Saturday which I am looking forward to. Been awhile since I have been out with the girls for beverages. Dad's in charge....he is a fantastic dad so no worries there. Hoping there is no hangover cause I am definately not a fan with a wee one.

Hangover + baby= Large Headache!

Some favorties eats for Munch right now

LOVES...

Butternut Squash
Sweet potatoes

Peaches
Mangos
Cantelope
Green Beans
Vegtable Beef
Cheerios
Puffs- Graduates
Yogurt

Oatmeal

I should eat what he eats!!! ;)

I'm ready for flips flops now, umm k? Thanks.

So yesterday was a great day. Beautiful weather, long naps so I took advantage of the long nap and got ready so I could head out with him for a bit. We headed over to Market. Found some cute hats for him...boys definately do not have as many options as girls :) I think that is a good thing or I would buy all the cute little girl clothes...as it is I had a ton of clothes for him. Yesterday, I packed up a ton that don't fit him anymore...there are SO many. Some that were worn only once I think and some never worn (such a shame)

So anyway we headed out in the beautiful sunshine and did a little shopping. He had lunch at the mall (vegtable beef and some apple) and I had a coffee, my fav Skinny Caramel Corretto from Second Cup.

Made our way home, he is such a good sleeper in the vehicle, makes me feel bad having to wake him when we get home so sometimes I will get a coffee at a drive thru or take the detour to let him sleep a bit.

Today we just hung out, going do some laundry and Swiss Chalet gift card is itching to be used :) But I would like to stay in my pjs so I will see if I can send my darling husband out for take out ?? :)

Tomorrow we are going over to a friends for a visit in Okotoks (she has never met Noah yet) and she has kindly offered to make us an early dinner! She is an amazing cook too.. so YAY!

Dinner, bath and bed for the Munch then movies tonight with a glass of wine perhaps. Perfect to me.

L O V E

Our Valentines day was lovely!

We had Sunday brunch at my moms and he passed out his Valentines and received a gift from Grandma...very cute, a dragonfly teething ring, a book and a new pair of pj's. Thanks Grandma! We watched a movie Sunday night and relaxed. Date night in, just what we needed.

Today John was home from work as it is family day so I made pancakes and then we went for a walk with Noah in the Bjorn, he laughed all the way home! :P Seriously my face hurt from laughing. Made a really nice dinner, chicken and chorizo romesco with spanish potatoes with kale. It was pretty good. After dnner we all went for a walk again over to the Starbucks for a coffee and to just get out. It was a gorgeous day. Noah had 2 long naps today for 2 hours each and then went down at 7:30 no problem. Lovely weekend all around.

This was at our dinner Saturday night, candles, wine and the baby monitor....ahh. Life is perfect :)

Tasty cart? Bleh!!

Today was a nice day, coffees and breakfast together. John is on call so he had to go out on a claim for a short bit and then we all went to the Mall to get out and have the best Sharwarma! So delish. We went to the Cross Iron Mall, the restaurant is called Madina. Worth a try!

Noah is sitting in the shopping carts now and I seen those moms that have the padding in carts where their child sits and thought hmmm is that necessary?? The answer is Yes, yes it is (I found out this week). I went to Walmart with the monkey and he was all smiles touching the items in his reach, pulling clothes off the hangers and then I was looking at something, look back and he is about to suck on the cart...YUCK!! So gross! So today I have purchased the padding! :) Now I will be one of those moms, and with good reason!

Noah was not a fan of wanting to sleep tonight, I am sure that he now knows that he is missing things when he goes to sleep ;) and he did miss out Valentines dinner great, wine great and chocolate fondue so amazing!

Brunch at my moms tomorrow...excited! Who doesn't love brunch??

LOL I just realized that my post has alot to do with food! Maybe I need a midnight snack??

Dear John,

Ha..I just realized that I could be talking about the movie or addressing my DH. So Noah went to the movies for the first time. Dear John is fantastic...and Channing Tatum is quite easy on the eyes. He did pretty good. Noah's new thing is lalalalalalalala...seriously, when I give him a cheerio or puff he is very vocal... la laalalalalalalal. When one baby cried, they all started...it is a great idea though. I rocked him up at the back for a bit and then he fell asleep on me for about 40min. Stars and strollers...thanks movie people.

Made some more Valentines for some family, ladybugs with little cards that have his hand traced out with a crayon..cute. I will post a pic of the lady bug. Easy peasy ;) Then there is a little bag of goodies to go along with it.

Yesterday was beautiful out so we went to run some errands, walmart and then walked to the Sobeys in the warm sunshine to grab some steaks for a bbq, grabbed a skinny caramel corretto (YUM) and made our way home.

Tonight, we are getting the groceries to make our McInnes meal for Valentines Day! It's delish...brushetta, olives, jalenpeno cheese ball, crackers, roasted red peppers, spanish style hot chorizo..then bernard chocolate fondue with pineapples and bananas..FYI Pineapples and chocolate are ridiculously good. If you have not tried it you MUST.

Dear John, (for real now)
Please don't be jealous of my small crush on Channing.
Love you.
Here are the lady bugs that "Noah" made. Check out the man bug in the middle ;)
On the top of the bug tied with a ribbon is the Valentine card.

Perfect

Yes!

Ok, not sure if this was a fluke or what but he stayed up a little longer, had a bottle and ready for bed at 7:30, went down easy peasy :p

So far so good!

Later bedtime??

Last night was much better with little Noah but did take a couple of hours longer to get to sleep. Maybe he just needs a later bedtime??

He is one handing his bottle now but does not know to tilt it up to get the goods...lol. Also another new thing is he is standing with our help of course, like on our laps (standing up without bouncing up and down) and he loves it. I laugh when he does it and it makes him laugh! So great!

I'm excited to meet Lisa for a visit to help her find some boots and have a coffee. Maybe I can keep him up a little longer and bring him home tired and ready for bed?

Here's to trying...will post the outcome later ;)

Teething?

I cant think of what else it could be! He is normally a fantastic sleeper, but last night he woke up at 10pm and screamed when I tried to put him down. He was chewing on his sucky, I gave him some tylenol and he slept for half an hour and then woke up screaming again. He was only happy when I was holding him. This went on til almost 3am. I gave him his nuby with ice chips and he feel asleep in our bed. I transferred him to his bed and he slept til 630 this morning.
Surprisingly he was in a great mood this morning. I thought he would be grouchy but he was all smiles....um I love him. Now he is napping and I am having a vanilla cappuccino..(need lots of coffee)

Successful Saturday

Ok seriously son? 6:30...wide awake, therefore myself and husband wide awake. Super uber tired. John does an early morning Tim's run and I feed Noah some breakie and he lays down for 30 min, as do I and my cat Bella (bad me for this being the first mention of her..LOVE her) John wakes us all up with his return with Tims. Yummmm just what I needed.

There is an afternoon Canucks game so my boys are watching the game and I am off for a little teeny weeny me time. Check out Once Upon a child (for a used high chair for Grandma) and realize they are overpriced for a used place. But do score a very cute pair of Mini Robeez.

Make my way over to Market Mall, Gap has gorgeous gum boots for boys, skulls!! LOVE them so so much...but I had to pass them up cause I already got the shoes and eh hum..an adorable golf shirt with skulls and cross bones on them.

Made my way to Old Navy for a cute casual shirt and was thinking of starting to pick up some of the True Blood series for John as a Valentines gift cause he loves fantasy style novels and I have heard some good things about it...but went with Lingerie instead, very cute too!! :) Reading schmeading right?....lol.

Noah went through bed routine twice today...missed his afternoon nap and was running on fumes I guess. John passed him to me just in time for him to puke on me, not himself at all, just me. Lovely. Then we attempted to put him to bed and nope, so he decided he needed a snack (for real- smacking his pouty lips)..and so we had a snack together and he went to bed, great the second time.

Right now, having a tea and relaxing, I'm good with that.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I was soo extra tired today (not all Noah's fault) because I decided to finish my book, The lovely Bones. I heard alot of great things but to be honest, I thought it was just ok..kinda forced myself to finish it. But I just finished Twilight Saga so.....no comparison. I hold a special part in my heart for the twilight books. Next Book- Dear John...LOVED the Notebook (hence Noah) and it's the same Author so expecting good things.

One last note. My husband finally replaced the light bulb in the favorite lamp :) Thank you John, thank you. :) Ok wait a minute...I know HOW to change a lightbulb...this lamp (as show in the last photo) is tall and tricky and you need long arms. (Ahhhh ok , mind at ease and feel better about that now).
Carry on now.

A peek at tomorrow....

-Laundry
-Making Noah's weekly food (new things at 8 months, very exciting)
Things like that....I know, you are biting your nails in anticipation...

Winner winner chicken dinner

Not a bad way to spend my friday night. Out to Swiss Chalet with the family and then to Cheesecake for me :) Need a slice of turtle cheesecake for movie night. Noah was seated in a 1970's (not even kidding) highchair that he was sliding out of but he gladly ate his butternut squash with bits of chicken strewn about.

Noah was playing with a piece of paper that they give little kids to color on or in our case whip around in one hand, eat and then throw on the ground. Either way...it works. :)

Got a chance to catch up with Laura on the tele today for an hour and half...who knew we had so much to talk about. But great chat and we are planning a girls night with Lisa soon!! Very much needed...baby is in bed and now time for a blockbuster night.

Roger out.

Assistance is needed

Alright I am trying to find a name for a photography hobby. I have been racking my brain...I would like something funky but not overboard. Fun, possibly a play on my name, Pennie. hmm...Lucky Lens Photography, Sweet Cents Photography, Copper Shots....I need help please. Get those creative juices flowing...thank you :)

THE BURP SONG

I burp when I look at mommy
I burp when I look at mommy
My mommy my mommy makes me burp
Yeah she makes me burp!
(Repeat until desired level of burps are reached)
*optional*
You may need a dash of pillsbury poke in the tummy for a side giggle

Every morning..

In the morning when Noah squeaks to let us know he has arisen, he is fed, changed and snatched to come snuggle with us in our bed for a little longer. This is the best ever!

Lately he has been pulling my hair and swiping at me to get up and play and cuddle him. This morning however, he did pull my hair and tickle my back with his tiny swipes (give and take I guess lol) but I was able to rub his tiny tummy in circles and lightly run my fingers across his head as he drifted off for some extra sleep and snuggles while dad jumped in the shower.

Sometimes he crashes on me during the day when he is having a bottle. Most of the time it is amazing and so so wonderful to watch him so peaceful and relaxed on me but sometimes I am starving and the intention was to feed him quick and grab lunch for myself.

Note to self- stash emergency granola bars in the couch.

A little camera fun

He was the perfect subject to practice on. BTW..my husband doesn't like it when I snap randoms of him ;)

Goodnight lil monkey

To end the day...another poop. LOL this has been the most in a very long time..but we had a very happy lil boy today so I really can't complain.

2. The camera
3. TV show Waybuloo -piplings who do yogo in Nara with Cheebies (real kids)
4. Cantelope/cheerios
5. Diaper changes
6. His "pal" Scout
7. His sippy cup
8. The burp song (mommy's own lol)
9. Forts
10. Jolly jumper

Groundhog day!

WTF? lol seriously. Okay wait......don't read any further. Read the previous post first.
From the last post, he had some breakfast (oh yeah I am supposed to have breakfast too, soon) and changed his nappy. Put Noah down for a nap, started laundry (everyday almost now with bibs and food splattered clothes) and made a coffee! Grabbed the happy smiley boy to come back down for some play. He was literally sitting for 5min and GROUNDHOG DAY. The poop face AGAIN..lol. Hmmm...maybe those cheerios are to blame?? Off for another nappy change. 3 hours awake, 3 nappy changes. Apparently it's not my day for a relaxing cappuccino :p

You all know that face..

Don't you just love that..brand new diaper, all cleaned up and ready to start the day! Make our way downstairs for a little good morning play time and you spot...you can't believe it, but yup there it is...the poop face. Here we go again.....

Cheerios....ummmmm

Today's MOMoirs...
Noah ate cheerios today for the first time! After a whole lot of pureeeeess. It was so cute to see him tumble this little life preserver in this toothless mouth. He LOVED them. He was "saying" ummmm and looking for more but he seemed happiest when he had one cheerio in each hand.

Why not?

Okay so I am gonna give this a try and see how I do. Not sure if I can commit to this but I thought why not? There are just so many cute moments that I would like to capture about being a new momma to a 7 month old lil monkey named Noah. Many of which have contributed to my ever growing laugh lines.
